Our Position
Phantasmal LLC sells authenticated luxury handbags and accessories, and some of what we sell is offered in blind-box form, where the specific item you receive is determined at random from a disclosed pool. We think that format is fun. We also recognize that for some people it is not.
Buying should be a deliberate decision, not a reflex. The combination of an uncertain outcome, an immediate reveal, and the ability to buy again in seconds can, for some individuals, develop into compulsive spending that causes real financial, emotional, and interpersonal harm. We are not neutral about that outcome and we do not want our revenue to come from it.
This policy sets out the risks, the tools we provide to help you stay in control, and where to get help that is independent of us.
1. Understanding the Risks
Compulsive or excessive purchasing can lead to:
- financial strain, including debt, missed payments, and depleted savings;
- spending beyond what you planned or can afford, and buying to recover previous losses;
- hiding purchases from family, partners, or friends, or lying about how much you have spent;
- anxiety, guilt, low mood, and preoccupation with the next purchase;
- strain on relationships and neglect of work, study, or personal responsibilities; and
- loss of control — continuing to buy despite genuinely wanting to stop.
Warning Signs
You may want to pause and reassess if you recognize yourself in any of the following:
- You spend more than you intended, more often than you intended.
- You buy to change how you feel — to relieve boredom, stress, loneliness, or low mood.
- You buy again immediately after a disappointing outcome, to make it back.
- You borrow money, use credit you cannot repay, or sell possessions to fund purchases.
- You conceal your spending or become defensive when asked about it.
- You have tried to cut back and found that you could not.
- Someone close to you has expressed concern about your spending.
2. What We Do
2.1 Age and Identity Verification
The Platform is restricted to users aged eighteen (18) or older. We verify identity and age using a third-party verification provider before permitting withdrawals, and we may verify at any other point. Accounts that fail verification are suspended.
2.2 Transparent Odds and Values
We publish the probability bands and the minimum and maximum obtainable value for every Drop before you buy, on the purchase screen itself and not buried in a help page. We disclose plainly that a Drop may — and often will — yield an item worth less than what you paid.
2.3 Honest Marketing
We do not advertise Drops as an investment, an income opportunity, or a way to make money. We do not use language suggesting that outcomes are guaranteed, that continued buying improves your chances, or that a loss is a near miss. We do not market to anyone under eighteen or place advertising on channels directed primarily at minors.
2.4 Spending Controls
We provide, at no cost and without needing to contact support, the following tools in BagDrop:
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
| Deposit limit | Caps how much you can add to your account per day, week, or month. Decreases apply immediately; increases take effect only after a cooling-off period. |
| Spend limit | Caps how much you can spend on Drops over a chosen period, independent of your balance. |
| Session reminder | Displays an on-screen notice at intervals you choose, showing elapsed time and total spend for the session. |
| Spend summary | A running, always-accessible view of your deposits, purchases, buyback proceeds, and net position over any period. |
| Cooling-off | Temporarily suspends purchasing for 24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days. Cannot be reversed early. |
| Self-exclusion | Closes access to purchasing for 6 months, 1 year, or permanently. Cannot be reversed before the period ends. |
2.5 How Cooling-Off and Self-Exclusion Work
During any cooling-off or self-exclusion period:
- You cannot add funds to your account.
- You cannot purchase a Drop or any other item, including with an existing balance or promotional credit.
- You can still withdraw your withdrawable balance.
- You can still request shipment of items held in your Vault.
- Promotional credit and referral accrual are suspended and do not expire during the period.
- We stop sending you marketing communications.
We will not reverse a cooling-off or self-exclusion period early, regardless of how the request is made. We treat that refusal as the point of the tool, not as an inconvenience.
2.6 Our Own Monitoring
We monitor for patterns that may indicate unhealthy engagement — including rapid escalation in deposit size, repeated deposits within short windows, purchasing at unusual hours over sustained periods, and repeated limit-increase requests. Where we identify such a pattern, we may, in our sole discretion and without prior notice, contact you, surface our spending tools, impose a limit, or restrict or close your account. We may do this whether or not you have asked us to.
We are not obligated to monitor any individual user, and our monitoring is not a substitute for your own judgment. Nothing in this section creates a duty of care beyond what applicable law imposes.
2.7 Excluding Someone Else
If you have a genuine and substantial interest in the wellbeing of a Phantasmal LLC user — for example, you are their spouse, partner, or immediate family member — and you believe their purchasing is causing harm, you may contact us at [email protected]. We will review the request, may seek supporting information, and may restrict or close the account. We will handle these requests confidentially, and we may be unable to share account details with you due to privacy obligations.
2.8 Staff Training
Everyone at Phantasmal LLC who interacts with customers is trained to recognize the warning signs described in this policy, to respond without judgment, to surface our spending tools, and to escalate concerns. Support staff are explicitly instructed never to encourage a customer to continue purchasing, never to offer promotional credit to a customer who has expressed concern about their spending, and never to be compensated in a way that rewards them for doing so.
3. Practical Guidance
If you use BagDrop, we suggest:
- Decide what you are willing to spend before you open BagDrop, and set a deposit limit that matches it.
- Treat the money as spent on entertainment the moment you deposit it, not as an investment you expect to recover.
- Never buy with money set aside for essentials, and never buy with borrowed money.
- Do not buy to recover a disappointing outcome. The odds on the next Drop are unchanged by the last one.
- Take regular breaks, and avoid buying when stressed, upset, bored, or under the influence of alcohol.
- Check your spend summary honestly and regularly.
- Tell someone you trust what you are spending.

6. Review of This Policy
We review this policy at least annually, and sooner if our product, our user base, or applicable law changes materially. Questions, concerns, or suggestions about this policy can be sent to [email protected].
